This simple, 4-Ingredient Steak Seasoning isn’t just for steak. But it gets that name, because it’s a steakhouse-style spice blend that is made to perfectly season everything from veggie burgers to grilled and roasted seafood.

While this is my go-to summer seasoning, it’s a must to always have in your spice drawer. You can spoon it into soups in fall and winter and sprinkle it over popcorn for movie nights. It adds that extra hit of flavor to everything it touches.

Steak Seasoning Ingredients

You only need four simple ingredients to make this robust seasoning blend. Here’s what you need:

  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Granulated garlic
  • Granulated onion

While you may already have garlic powder and onion powder in your pantry, I recommend using the granulated versions for this blend. Granulated garlic and onion have a coarser texture – more like cornmeal – while powdered forms are fine, like flour. The coarser texture not only improves consistency but also better matches the size of the salt and pepper, helping the seasoning mix distribute more evenly and coat ingredients more uniformly.

10 Ways to Use Steak Seasoning That Aren’t Steak

Grilled Vegetables: Toss zucchini, mushrooms, bell peppers or asparagus with olive oil and sprinkle on the seasoning before grilling.

Roasted Potatoes: Use it as a quick grab-and-use to season potato wedges or breakfast potatoes. The granulated ingredients in the seasoning help crisp up the potatoes.

Tofu or Tempeh: Add it to slices or cubes or tofu or tempeh before pan-searing to give it a steakhouse flavor.

Corn on the Cob: After brushing your corn with butter or oil, sprinkle the seasoning on for an elevated twist on this summer favorite.

Homemade Croutons: Toss cubed, day-old bread with olive oil and this blend and toast in the oven for a crunchy, homemade crouton.

Marinade or Dressing: Save a little time by grabbing this blend to add to a quick vinaigrette made from lemon juice, mustard and olive oil. Use it to marinate fish and vegetables or as a dressing for simple salads.

Canned Beans: Wake up a boring can of beans with this ready-to-use blend for extra depth and flavor.

Popcorn: A few pinches of this blend will add a savory kick to family popcorn night.

Potato Salad: Use it to add an extra boost to your creamy dressing for this classic side dish.

Veggie Burgers: Season your veggie burger patties with this blend to get a restaurant-quality flavor in every bite.

You can easily batch this up, using 1½ cups kosher salt and ¼ cup each of black pepper, granulated garlic and granulated onion.
