When I was a child, I would come home from school and immediately grab my mom's red-and-white checkered Better Homes and Gardens cookbook from the cupboard. I loved making the sweet recipes from the ingredient-stained book and presenting them to the family for dessert. I have experimented with cooking and baking my entire life, but as I've gotten older I've become more tuned in to the foods I'm eating. As a Seattle resident, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by locally grown and sourced foods. I can't get enough of a good farmers market, and I celebrate knowing the ins and outs of tourist hotspot Pike Place Market.
